The book I am currently reading is “Number the Stars” by Lois Lowry. It is about two young girls named Annmarie Johansen and Ellen Rosen who are two best friends living in Denmark during the time of the Nazi occupation. The people of Denmark are being forced to survive with a lack of food, freedom and privileges. As the king of Denmark is growing old and the resistance is faltering many people are losing their lives.
Ellen, Annmarie, and her mother and little sister must escape to the sea where they can safely take Ellen to her parents who are in hiding.
So far, I found that this is a wonderful book, full of suspense, action and where great and dangerous feats are accomplished. The protagonist is a very strong character, one who appeals to readers of all ages, whether male or female. The twists and turns will definitely keep you guessing and it will leave you hungry for more. There are very few books that absolutely everyone should read. This is one of them.
